Macro Photography & Landscape Photography

Randley Morales Photography

Photography is another way I explore the world through light, patterns, and visual structure. As a mathematician, machine learning engineer, musician, and visual artist, I approach photography as both a technical discipline and a creative exploration.

My background in mathematics and visual thinking influences how I see compositions, symmetry, textures, and spatial relationships. In many ways, photography becomes a way to translate structure and emotion into visual form.

I focus primarily on macro photography and landscape photography, two styles that reveal different scales of natural beauty.

Macro photography allows me to explore intricate details, textures, and patterns that are often invisible to the naked eye. Through close observation, small natural elements become abstract visual worlds.

At the same time, landscape photography allows me to capture atmosphere, light, and the emotional presence of natural environments. These images often emphasize scale, depth, and the interaction between light and landscape.

My goal is to create images that feel immersive, atmospheric, and cinematic. I use light, depth, and perspective to transform ordinary moments into images that feel timeless and expressive.

Photography Equipment

To capture both fine details and expansive landscapes, I work with professional Sony full-frame cameras and G Master lenses.

Sony Cameras

  • Sony α7R V full-frame high-resolution camera
  • Sony FX3 Cinema Line full-frame camera

These cameras provide exceptional dynamic range, resolution, and cinematic image quality.

Sony Lenses

My photography kit includes several Sony G Master and G lenses designed for macro photography, landscape photography, and cinematic composition.

  • FE 50mm F1.2 GM
  • FE 12–24mm F2.8 GM
  • FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS
  • FE 24–70mm F2.8 GM II
  • FE 70–200mm F4 Macro G OSS II
  • FE 35mm F1.4 GM

These lenses allow me to move between macro detail, wide landscapes, and atmospheric compositions with precision and creative flexibility.

Visual Philosophy

My photography explores the intersection between art, mathematics, technology, and sound. My background in mathematics, machine learning, and deep learning strongly influences the way I observe patterns and structures in the natural world.

In many cases, landscapes and macro subjects reveal hidden geometry. Mountains, coastlines, plants, and rock formations often display symmetry, repetition, and evolving natural structures. Through photography, I try to capture these patterns while preserving the atmosphere and emotion of the moment.

Mathematics and Patterns in Nature

Similarly, mathematics provides a language for understanding complex natural systems. Fractal patterns, repeating textures, and geometric structures appear throughout nature. Because of this, photography becomes a visual exploration of these mathematical relationships.

For example, rock arches, coastal formations, and plant structures often reveal patterns that evolve over time. As a result, each photograph becomes a study of both natural beauty and structural complexity.

Music and Visual Composition

Music also plays an important role in how I approach visual composition. As a musician and guitarist, I often think about photography the same way I think about sound.

Just as music builds atmosphere through rhythm and layers, photography builds visual landscapes through light, texture, and balance. Ultimately, my work explores the space where science, art, and emotion meet.
